Pickle Juice Health Benefits

1) Hydration
Pickle Juice contains sodium and water which are critical for hydration.  While water usually does the trick, if you need replenishment after a super hard workout or long day in the sun, the electrolytes in pickle juice can help. Approximately 2 - 3 ounces of pickle juice per day should suffice.

2) Cramp Reduction
Cramping is your bodies response to missing electrolytes.  Healthy pickle juice is packed with the electrolytes your body needs to quickly reduce cramping and is an excellent post workout drink.

3) Satisfies Salt Cravings
Instead of reaching of the bag of chips or pretzels, take a shot of pickle juice to satisfy your body's craving for salt.  It scratches that itch and is completely calorie free.

4) Regulate Blood Sugar
Studies have shown that when consumed prior to a meal, individuals with type 2 diabetes had reduced blood sugar spikes.  Though the vinegar in pickle juice is largely responsible for improving the body’s response to insulin, we probably don’t need to convince you a shot of vinegar tastes a lot better when it’s masked by the sweet and sour flavors of a pickle.

5) Helps Lower Cholesterol
Dill has Quercetin in it which has proven cholesterol-lowering properties.  Dill also has traditional medicinal uses including treating of indigestion, stomach cramps, and gas.

6) Sweetens Your Breath
Even if it makes your lips pucker when you drink it, a little bit of pickle juice might make for sweeter breath.  Bacteria in your mouth can cause bad breath. Both dill and vinegar have antibacterial properties. This potent combination may help freshen your breath after you drink pickle juice.
